January 2014… still catching up

It's January and I do not have my registration forms filled out for the Bits 'n' Pieces Quilt Guild's up-coming 2014 Quilt Show yet! How can this be?

Well, I'm the Show Chair and I've just not been tho king about that part of it yet. Yikes! I do have a list of ones I'd like in the show with the only problem being that half of them are NOT DONE yet! They are finished tops. Most even have the backs finished too. They just are not quilted yet.

The hexagon quilt is a lap size and shouldn't take that long - I just need to decide HOW to quilt it. For me that is the hardest part. This quilt came from an impulse buy of pre-cut hexies which I thought would be less work, but the problem was that the white ones had a singed edge that showed through to the top. So each of those edges that showed - since they were pressed to the white - had to be hand trimmed to ⅛" seams. One TV evening and lots of small bits all over the couch…

The Polka-Dot quilt was a group effort where PMQ members made quarter circles and then traded with each other. I tried to use up the polka-dot fabric on the border and the back, but think it multiplied there is still so much left.
